“A slightly different [something]” apparently sits on the list of the top ten marketing clichés. We have ten reasons why we think WineList really is a slightly different wine bar.
Why we are here
To make wine a fun, interactive and accessible experience that combines quality, freedom of choice and a friendly atmosphere.
Ten reasons
WineList is owned and run by a woman (and part-time tax advisor), Róza.
Wine is the centre of WineList, but by day we also serve great specialty coffee from our favourite Czech roasters.
We bake our own bread for the wine. Our fluffy focaccia is the stuff of legend.
With coffee we serve our own cakes and buns. We test them carefully and responsibly on children, who know what is good for them.
We offer dozens of wines by the glass. We have seen a wider selection in just one bar in Bordeaux, and they do not have Pálava or Blaufränkisch.
You can have a tasting pour of a basic (but good) wine for 25 CZK, or a glass of Brunello di Montalcino for around 300. Or both, so you can compare.
Any of our wines can be bought to take home at the regular retail price.
You taste at your own pace and in your own direction. Rely on yourself, the basic information about each wine and their logical order. And we are always here for you.
For systematic tasters we have “wine maps”, routes through our wines. We have not yet found a more practical way to dive into the world of wine.
Our prices are fair and reflect whether you drink the wine here or open it at home with dinner. Because you can taste first, you only buy wines that truly make you happy.
